Cultivating Endurance

Matthew 24:13

Endurance is required when we walk with the Lord as his servant reflecting the love of Christ to the world. We can experience many trials and difficulties in our ministry and Satan will oppose our efforts. It also takes endurance in ministering to people when we pour our hearts out to people, bringing the love of Christ to them and they refuse to accept Christ. This is especially difficult when ministering to family or close friends, and can easily affect us emotionally. When we experience failure in our ministry we need endurance to keep going.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9) This verse tells us to never give up but to keep on reflecting Christ at all times because we may never know what God will do with the seeds we have planted. We can become tired both physically and mentally, that is the time to pray and take our mental and physical condition to the Lord. This may take endurance, or it may require making changes in our ministry to reduce our load.

Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. (Psalms 54:4) The Lord will sustain us if go him and pray, releasing our thoughts and emotions to him. If we are truly closer to the Lord than we are to anyone or anything in the world, and we live as his servant, it is amazing that our endurance is almost divine, meaning through the power of God we know we can endure anything. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20) The Lord will work his endurance in us.

Today know through the Lord you can endure anything. Walk as his servant, pray about everything, and know you will be sustained by God. The Lord reveals his power to those in his family enabling us to endure to the end. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. (Philippians 3:12) The apostle Paul endured to the end.

Prayer: Lord thank you for giving me the endurance to continue on serving you. Let me endure to my last breath, overcoming all things through your strength. In Jesus name, Amen
