Conversation With the Lord
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.John 14:23
The Lord is always with us, so why not talk to the Lord? Go through your days knowing the Lord is with you and he desires to guide you with his love and wisdom. If we can always be aware that the Lord is with us and we can remain in conversation with Him, and walk according to his divine will.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7) If we commune with the Lord the devil will flee from us, because our thoughts will be on walking with Christ. The Lord will guide us through life giving us his love, strength, and wisdom, to live life to the full. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)
We are created to be with the Lord as He leads us through life to overcome the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) We overcome the world because the world cannot touch our eternal soul. We remain free in Christ, knowing Heaven our home, the only thing people may sacrifice is their temporary flesh.
The only one who can touch our soul is us, and we are free from self because life is about God and others. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) Life is not centered on self but centered on Christ, and we commune with Christ, receiving his love, courage, and wisdom. When we are close to Christ our desire is to be with Christ. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21) This verse reveals how close the apostle Paul was to the Lord.
Today be in conversation with Christ, and ask for his guidance throughout the day, with a thankful heart.
Prayer: Lord, help me to know that you are always with me, and help me to commune with you, seeking your guidance and wisdom all through the day. In Jesus name, Amen
