Content in All Circumstances

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Philippians 4:11-13

Paul was initially a Pharisee living a comfortable life, and Christ changed him and he became a powerful Christian where his life was difficult and often spent time in prison; but he learned to be content in all circumstances through the power of Christ. Paul is an example that lasting happiness comes from Christ and not from the world.

Nor will they say, “See here!’ or ‘See there!” For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21) It’s God’s plan for those in his family, that their spiritual soul lives in the Kingdom while their flesh lives in the world. This sounds difficult but with the Lord’s power it’s possible, however it is can be difficult, especially if we are worldly minded. To live in the Kingdom our minds have be on things above and not on things of this world.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) If we live each day doing everything as doing it for Christ, our minds will be on things above.  Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human master, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) This verse is very powerful, and if we have this attitude of doing everything for Christ in our hearts, it will be in both our conscious and subconscious mind.

The closer we are to the Lord the more our conscious thoughts are directed above. The more our thoughts are on things above, the more content we can be in our soul. But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. (1 Timothy 6:6) The more we gain from Christ the more content we become. The closer we are to Christ the more rest we have for our souls, which brings contentment with security.

Today live with contentment because you are secure in Christ. Slow down inside a live today with peace and joy, as you reflect the heart of Jesus to everyone. At the end of the day feel content and peaceful because you served the Lord and he is pleased.

Prayer: Guide me in the Spirit with heart of love, contentment, and peace; that I can reflect to everyone.  Thank you for the blessing from Heaven that fill my soul. In Jesus name, Amen
