Christ’s Guidance is Perfect

Posted on

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

Matthew 16:24

Our faith will lead us to deny self and follow Christ, because we know his guidance is perfect, especially when compared to our own guidance. The Lord knows everything about us better that we know ourselves, he knows what we need more than we know, and he knows all the talents that has given us.  Faith is what we need to put our life in the hands of Christ. In our understanding we always fall short in becoming the person God created us to be.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) We must know the Word, we must be still inside, and we commune with the Lord; then we can follow Christ. If Christ was walking with us in the flesh, we would always seek his guidance, his words, and we would control our thinking, anger, and speech. Christ live in us through the Spirit and if we ask for his guidance, he will place his thoughts in our minds, or change the desires of our hearts.

When serving Christ, we show the fruit of the Spirit to everyone, and we ask the Lord for his insight to the people we are ministering. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) It takes real faith to stop leaning on or acting on our own understanding, but we trust the Lord more than we trust ourselves.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. (Isaiah 26:4) True faith is to trust the Lord over trusting self, and we trust the Lord forever. If we know Christ and have a close loving relationship with him, then putting our total trust in his hands becomes a blessing.  When we turn our life over to Christ ad seek his guidance in everything, then we are free in Christ.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) It’s weak faith that most often keeps us from being totally free in Christ, because we remain a partial slave in this world. Read the Word and meditate, because God wants us to know him, and his Son, so that he can bless us and guide us through life to our eternal home.

Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) With faith we overcome the world because Christ guides us and is with us, and that is how we overcome the sinful world.  Only living to serve Christ can we overcome the world; with our life in his hands, we have peace that transcends understanding, and how can we be free and overcome the world without a mind of peace? The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) How can we be free in Christ, overcome the world; and have life to the full, if we don’t have the faith to give our life to Christ?

Today trust the Lord’s perfection, as he guides you through life, and is always with you. And we don’t let Satan make us into our own god.

Prayer:  Father, give me the faith to surrender my life into your hands, and to always seek your divine guidance.  In Jesus name, Amen
