Christians Overcome and are Free
Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4
God gives us his power to overcome the world which means we are free in Christ. The world no longer has direct control over us, but we interface to the world through the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit. And we have the power from the indwelling Holy Spirit to overcome Satan and his demons.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Christ sets us free from bondage to the world, because love requires freedom, and true freedom only comes from God. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)
Freedom in Christ is available for every Christian as our faith grows stronger and the more we realize Heaven is our home. When we trust the Lord’s ways and his timing, when we live as his servants, and when we are eternally minded, then we are set free. The Lord desires for us to be free therefore pray for freedom everyday because Satan is always trying to destroy our freedom with fear and sinful worldly temptations. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17) The Spirit of the Lord lives within us and he sets us free.
Now that we are free in Christ, we have overcome the world. Whatever the world places in our path, we have the wisdom, strength, and power of God to endure and overcome. There is nothing on the planet that we can overcome because the Lord will give us whatever we need to overcome. To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. (Revelations 3:1)
Today know that he Lord is with you and through his guidance and his power, you can overcome and be victorious in the eyes of God. Living free in Christ will make your life pleasing to the Lord, because it shows you trust him.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be free in Christ and not yield to Satan’s temptations to become a slave to the world. Through your love and power I will walk in freedom and reflect Christ to everyone. In Jesus name, Amen
