Christians are Holy
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14
Holy means we are separate from the sinful world, and we reflect Christ even to our death. God is referred to as Holy, Holy, Holy, which means he is perfect with no sin. .It is eternally important for us to be Holy, because without being Holy we will never see God..
If we are not holy, how can we reflect Christ and be pleasing to our Lord? The opposite of being holy is to be controlled by the world. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. (John 17:16). It is important we associate with other Christians because it helps us to remain Holy, even though we minster to all people. It’s always good to minister to the sinful world with one or more Christians, that way we can keep each other Holy.
A Christian takes the worldly situation and runs to the Lord for understanding and wisdom. This gives us divine power to remain Holy, and not to feed into the worldly turmoil, but to remain in control with Godly wisdom. Ministering to a sinful world requires we control our emotions, otherwise Satan will use our emotions to conform to the world.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth”(Psalm 46:10). If we can be still inside, it will help us to remain Holy. Being still inside enables us to seek Godly wisdom, instead of responding from our emotions. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, (James 1:19).
When we minister to others, it is important to remain calm, and respond with scriptures. Take advantage of every opportunity because these are evil times. Because of this, don’t be ignorant, but understand the Lord’s will (Ephesians 5:16-17). We must know the Word to remain Holy, and we never use our words to tell others of their sins, instead we quote the Word of God. If we use our words, we may end up in an argument.
Today, seek to be holy in every situation, and refuse to let Satan trigger your emotions. Instead, respond with a humble heart and with Godly wisdom and show the world that you are relaxed and in control.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be Holy and not to be emotionally driven into the world around me. Guide me in the Spirit to be in control and to reflect Godly wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
