Christ is Our Security

Posted on

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

John 10:27-29

True security only comes from God through Christ. Christians are sealed with the Holy Spirit and we live for our eternal home in Heaven with the Father and the Son. Nothing on the face of the earth can take us out of the Lord’s hands. If we live for our sinful fleshly desires we will be experience eternal death, but if we live for our spiritual soul, we will live in Heaven with a new eternal body.  Every person has to choose their security, from Christ or from the world.

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44) These are the words Jesus spoke to the Pharisees because they were living in lies of Satan. In the Last days Satan will seek to deceive many people with his lies with a purpose of destroying God’s people and to keep people from believing the truth about God.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18) Satan’s goal is place fear in the hearts of people and to have them seek their security from the world. As we approach end times their will be tribulations, and if we seek to be closer to our Lord for comfort, guidance, and security; his love will cast out fear from Satan. This is the power we can receive from Christ. God’s love is more powerful than Satan’s fear.

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. (1 Corinthians 15:19)  If we put our hope in Christ for this life only we will lose hope when tribulations come. This life is like a vapor but eternal life is forever; do we live for our short life described as a vapor or do we live for our eternal life? Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) Christ knows what will happen tomorrow and if we put our security in Christ he will carry us through each day of this life and into Heaven.

Today put your security in Christ for this life with your heart looking into eternity. Put your hope in Christ today and every day, but your hope is endure each day moving toward your eternal life. Live each day for eternity.

Prayer:  Lord my security comes from you because there is nothing secure in this world. Christ will return to judge the world and he will take me to my heavenly home. Jesus said: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (John 15:3) Thank you Lord for the promise of guiding me through life into my Heavenly home. In Jesus’ name, Amen
