Christ is Our Life

Posted on

When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Colossians 3:4

The best life possible, the most fulfilling life, life with divine peace and joy, life without fear from Satan; only comes when Christ is our life. God is our creator and he knows us better than we know ourselves. He loves us more than we can imagine, and he knows the best life for us; and this life is given in his Word.  Do we really believe God wants us to live the best life possible?

What does it mean that Christ is our life? I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) The apostle Paul describes what it means that Christ is his life. Paul lived following Christ through the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus followed the Father. Paul’s will was to live the will of Christ.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) We are governed by the Spirit which means we interface to the world through the Spirit, and we live to reflect Jesus. The most important thing in our life is being a servant for the Lord, following Christ through the Spirit being a Light for Christ.

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. (Matthew 25:40) We show our love to God by reflecting His love to everyone, including our enemies. But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Luke 6:27-28) It’s easy to reflect God’s love to people that are kind to us, but a real Christian shows love to everyone, just as Jesus showed love to everyone, even to His last breath on the cross.

If Christ is our life, we will reflect God’s love to everyone, and our hearts change to motivate us to serve the Lord. Love motivates us to bring Christ to everyone, because a heart of love, hurts for souls that don’t know Christ. If Christ is our life, we will pray every day for the Lord to guide us to witness to someone, or open a door to teach the Word. While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world. (John 9:5) Our life on earth is to be a Light for Christ, guided by the Spirit to reflect Jesus and tell others about Christ.  When people in the community know we are man or women of Christ, people will ask us to teach a class on the Word.

The Church is a Light on a Hill, and each member is a Light on a hill. The church, the Word, and prayer, are the foundation for being a Light for Christ in this world, and our ministry is both in the church and outside the church, seeking and praying for opportunities to bring Christ to people, and inviting them into God’s family.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Life to the full only comes when our life follows God design, conforming to the image of His Son.  Our faith is pleasing to God because we believe the best life is living for Christ. We are no longer the center of our life, but Christ and others is the center of our life.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) We will never be free until love changes our focus from self to Christ and others. We live to serve the Lord and our life is worship to God, giving Him all the glory.

Today let Christ be your life, guiding you through the day to reflect his love, peace, and joy. Don’t let Satan trigger your emotions in an attempt to pull you away from Christ.

Prayer: Lord guide me in the Spirit and let Christ be my life. Remind me that every thig I do today, I will do for Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
