Christ Has Risen
With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all.
Acts 4:33
Yesterday was Easter and we celebrate that Christ has risen from the grave and is alive today and forever. We have a thankful heart everyday for what Christ did for us, and we know through Christ, we have overcome physical death.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17) Christ ascended back to Heaven and he asks the Father to send the Holy Spirit to those who believe in Christ, repent, and are baptized. Now we are in the family of God, filled with the Spirit of God, and we live in the power of God.
Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. (Romans 8:34) Christ intercedes for to the Father presenting us perfect, because we have forgiveness from Christ. The Lord looks at our hearts, and in our hearts we desire to be perfect, but living in this worldly flesh we cannot be perfect. We fight sins with all the power from Christ, but cannot be perfect as long as we live in this fleshly body.
If Christ didn’t rise from the grave and ascend into Heaven, we would be lost forever in our sins. But for those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior: have forgiveness, have the Holy Spirit, overcome the world, free in Christ, guided by Christ, have divine power, and Heaven is our home. Therefore, we should celebrate Christ every day, not just on Easter, because we can see what Christ is doing for us; all because he took our sins to the cross, arose three days later, and ascended into Heaven.
Today think deeply about what Christ has done for us, and what he is still doing for us today. We should live with a thankfulness in our hearts every moment of our life.
Prayer: Lord thank you for saving me and for guiding me through life into Heaven, so I can be with You and the Father forever. In Jesus name. Amen
