Christ – Died for Our Sins

Posted on

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Christ is the only way we can have eternal life, because God sacrificed his only Son to overcome our sins. We now have the power of God in us, because Christ lives in us through the Holy Spirit, enabling us to overcome the sinful world. Christ knows we can never be perfect living in this sinful world, so we seek forgiveness with Godly sorrow and Christ forgives us and presents us to the Father as perfect.

I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high. (Luke 24:49) Power from on high implies we have the Holy Spirit, the spirit of God.  When we repent and baptized, we receive the power from above, the Holy Spirit, which connects us to Christ who guides us through life with his love, wisdom, and infinite power. Through Christ we have the power to endure anything Satan places in our path.

God has equipped us to endure this sinful world with hearts of peace and joy, because we are a light for Christ in this world. We have a divine purpose in this world which is more important than anything in the world, to be a light, pointing people to Christ by our life and by the words of the Bible. When people take their last breath, they will know that pursuing eternal life should have been their first priority in this life.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:16) Through Jesus is the only way to Heaven, because it is God’s perfect plan to save us; only Christ could die for our sins. After our last breath we will be judged, and our how we are judged is in the Word of God, and no matter what we think, God’s judgment never changes.

Satan is always trying to pull us away from God, by causing us to guide ourselves instead of being guided by Christ through the Spirit and by the Word of God. Satan is also trying to get a sinful foothold into our life, without us not even knowing he has foot-hold. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) We let Christ be our judge, because we are all biased in judgment of self, and Christ is the perfect judge. If we are thankful what Christ has done for us and how much the Father and the Son love us; it will us a forever thankful heart.

Today remember what Christ did for us by taking our sins to the cross, sending us the Spirit of God, and guiding us through life into Heaven.  Let it develop a thankful heart with peace and joy.

Prayer:  Lord thank you for taking my punishment, and filling my heart with your love as I tell the world that you died for our sins, offering everyone eternal life. And let me always have a thankful heart.  In Jesus name, Amen
