Certainty of Faith

Posted on

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

John 14:13-14

Jesus tells us from the verse above that if our prayers bring glory to the Father, he promises, I will do it. We can be confident our prayers will be answered in the Father’s time and in his divine way. The Father’s way of answering our prayer may not be understandable to us, but we know his ways are always perfect because he is God and knows all things. We have certainty in faith when we trust the Lord’s perfect answer and his perfect timing. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) We are saved by grace through faith and we show our faith in prayer, knowing the Father hears our prayer and will answer our prayer. We trust his divine timing and divine answer because he is God and we are his servant. When we fully trust the Lord, we have stopped trying to share the throne and we now see the Lord active in our prayers, and in our life. This is the importance of faith, because it shows we know the Lord.

We show we are servants of God by our pure lives, our understanding, and kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by true love, by speaking truth, and by God’s power. (2 Corinthians 2:6-7) To have certainty is faith as we walk as the Lord’s servant guided by the Spirit. We minister to the world asking the Spirit for guidance, and the more he reveals his divine guidance in our ministry to others, the more love and faith fills our hearts. The more love in our hearts the more we are motivated serve him, bringing truth to lost souls.

Today fully trust the Lord, asking the Spirit for guidance in prayer. Recognize the perfect love that God has for you and trust his loving guidance. Know that you may not understand his ways or his timing, but live as his servant and know he will guide you and take care of both your worldly needs and spiritual needs.

Prayer: Lord I will fully trust you with certainty in my faith. Guide me as your servant to be a light in this world and come to you in prayer with whatever the Spirit puts on my heart. In Jesus name, Amen
