Celebrate New Year with a Thankful Heart

Posted on

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

Psalm 100:4

When the New Year comes let it remind us to be thankful to the Lord for his blessings and being with us through the Spirit. The more thankful we are to the Lord for dying for our sins, the more desire we have to serve Him. It is our great advantage to be guided by God through life, and to read his divine Word.

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2) In every prayer we thank the Lord for everything He has given us in the world and for eternity. We should never take anything for granted, but always give thanks to the Lord. We have forgiveness, we have the indwelling Holy Spirit, Christ guides us through the Spirit, we are in God’s family, we know the Word, and we receive blessing from Heaven into our soul.
The Lord has done so much for us, we could thank Him all day, and the more we thank Him the more we desire to serve Christ with a grateful heart. The more we thank the Lord the more we realize His love for us; and Christ gets bigger and we get smaller, which means we depend on Christ to get us through each day.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; (1 Corinthians 6:19) Our body is a temple because the Spirit God lives is us, which means we belong to God, and we live to be guided by Christ. It’s a great blessing to be in God’s family and belong to Him, and to be guided by Christ. We overcome any temptation from Satan, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17) We live for Christ, and he sets us free, free from this sinful world. He renews our mind to the mind of Christ, and that gives us life to the full. Can we imagine having a mind that thinks like Christ? We don’t have the mental ability of God, and that is why we have Christ guiding us through life.

Today as celebrate life in this new year, remember the blessing that come for above, and remember Christ is with us and Heaven is our eternal home.

Prayer: Father let me always reveal a loving thankful heart for all Christ has done for me, and help me to surrender to His divine will more every day. In Jesus name, Amen.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
