Call on the Lord

Posted on

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Psalm 145:19

How often do we go through our busy days with our minds filled with the many tasks and worries. Do we tackle our day in our own strength and wisdom, or do we call on the Lord and walk in his strength and wisdom?

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. (Psalm 37: verse 23). The Lord is interested in every detail of our life, because his perfect love cares for us. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7). The Lord cares about every detail of our life and is eager to help is in all things. Do we seek God’s divine guidance and help in the details of our life, or do we call on the Lord only when we are in a serious situation?

When we develop the habit of calling on the Lord in every detail of our life, it will be become natural because we are created to be one with God through the Holy Spirit. The more we call on the Lord the more dependent we become on him, and the more we seek his guidance. This is pleasing to the Lord because we are now letting Christ live in us, and we become a light in this dark world. Being one with the Lord makes us more Christ-like and less like the sinful world. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2).

Develop the habit of calling on the Lord for the details of life, because it changes us. We will find ourselves praising and thanking God more often for his great love and being active in our lives. The more we depend on the Lord, experiencing his divine love, the more our hearts are filled with his love, peace, joy, and comfort. Satan’s spiritual gifts of fear, anger, worry, and unforgiveness, all start to disappear from us. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear. (1 John 4:18). The more we call on the Lord, the closer we are to him, the more we experience his love, the more we cast out fear.

Today make a note to call on the Lord, revealing the details of your day and seeking his guidance. Always praise and thank the Lord for his love and being there for you. Seek his comfort, as you turn everything over to the Lord, walking as his servant giving him your best. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24).

Prayer: Lord, help me to call on you today in everything as I seek your guidance. Help me to give you my best in all that I do. Thank you for your love and you care for me. Guide me to reflect your love to others, pointing lost souls toward your kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen
