Blessings from Heaven

Posted on

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Ephesians 1:3

Blessings from Heaven that feed our soul are difficult to describe because there is no blessing from the world that compares to them. Blessings from Heaven come from knowing the Lord, having a close, loving relationship with Him through the Word, prayer, meditation, and fellowship. When our hearts are filled with God’s love that comes from serving Him, then our hearts can identify with the heart of Jesus and we know Him.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27) This verse tells us that peace from Heaven cannot be given to us from the world. A heart filled with God’s love with faith that pleases God and knowing Heaven is our home is what gives us peace that transcends understanding.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)  The peace from Heaven transcends understanding because it comes from Christ and it guards our hearts and minds. That means our hearts and minds are continually at peace because it comes through the Spirit who is always with us.

This peace transcends understanding because our hearts are filled with God’s love drawing us closer to the Lord. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18) As the love in our hearts increases, the fear from Satan decreases. God’s love and Satan’s fear cannot both exist in our hearts.  It’s after God’s love reduces our fear that we realize how much fear was resident in our soul.

God’s love in our hearts, the reduction of fear in our soul, and the peace that transcends understanding comes from our faith.  Love from God is based on our relationship with Christ that comes from serving Him which means our faith increases making it pleasing to God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith overcomes fear with a heart of love. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.  (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.  (Matthew 11:28-30)  We serve the Lord and we reap rest for our souls.  Our soul is filled with love, peace, and rest that only comes from Heaven — it can never be found from the world.

Today, serve the Lord and pray for a heart of love because it is the foundation of faith and the peace that transcends understanding.  A serving heart driven by love builds a close relationship with Christ and being close to Christ brings peace.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for your love and the blessings from Heaven. Let the world see your love, peace, and rest through me.  Free me from worry and anger that comes from Satan. In Jesus’ name, Amen
