Blessings from God – Part 1

Posted on

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Galatians 5:22-23

The greatest blessing from God is Jesus who died on the cross for our sins redeeming us to the Father.  If we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we now have eternal life and Heaven is our home.  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life, (John 3:16 NKJV) The Father fills us with the Holy Spirit, He changes us to the mind and heart of Jesus, and He frees us from being controlled by the world. Our hearts are filled with love and we have a close loving relationship with Christ.

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. (Romans 8:15-17 NASB95) When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we move into the family of God and we have the perfect Father who loves us more than we can ever imagine. His desire is to guide us through life, giving us life to the full, and to bring us to our home in Heaven so the Father and Son can be with us.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. (2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB95) We are a new creation, born of God when we receive the indwelling Holy Spirit; our minds are renewed and our hearts are filled with God’s unconditional love.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) When we are born again, we are blessed to live life to the full in Christ.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28) This blessing means that God will use all things for our good and His glory, for those who love him and serve Christ. This is comforting knowing God will use all things to mold us to the mind of Christ.

Today, know that you are in the Lord’s family and Christ is with you through the Spirit. Let the Lord guide you through the day with his divine love, power, and wisdom.  Beware of the great blessing that the Lord desires to guide you through life.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for the endless blessings that fill my heart with love and thankfulness.  Guide me through the Spirit to show the world your divine blessings.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
