Biblical Description of Heaven

Posted on

Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:12

Today many Christians in the world are being persecuted for being a Christian, but we are spiritual people and we live forever with our reward being in Heaven. We will be living on a new earth where nothing ages, and we will have younger perfect body that lives forever and will never age.

But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:13) We are waiting for a new Heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells.  Satan, his demons, and all evil people will not be in Heaven, and no temptation will ever enter our minds. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. (Revelations 21:23) We will be in the presence of the Father and the Son, and the Father will bring the light. The love from God will flow through us and we will feel beyond our imagination ever instant for eternity. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3) Heaven is being in the presence of the Father and the Son and the blessings will flow from the Father through our new spiritual bodies making us feel unbelievably loved.

So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.  (1 Corinthians 13:42-44) Our spiritual body will be as real as our earthly body, and it is called a spiritual body because it will be in the presence of the Father and the Son and we seek too always be with them. Living on the earth, we get a small glimpse of being with the Father and the Son as blessing from Heaven continuously feed our soul, which is better than anything the world can provide.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. (Revelations 21:4) Life will perfect forever and we will feel fantastic and content forever, because the worries and troubles of our past will be gone..

They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. (Revelation 21:5) The Father and the Son will know everyone in Heaven intimately and we will know the Father and the Son. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (1 Corinthians 13:12) From this verse we can assume we shall know fully as we are known, which means we will have a greater understanding of the Father and the Son than we do while on earth.

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. (2 Peter 3:8) This implies that time doesn’t exist in Heaven, at least what we consider time here on earth. The description of Heaven implies we will never be tired and we never experience boredom. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2) We will be in the presence of the Father and the Son, and no one Heaven will ever be bored because time doesn’t exist and the Father and the Son are never bored.

Today live for eternity because Heaven is our reward for serving the Lord in this life.  The Bible gives us a brief understanding of Heaven, but when we are in Heaven, it will be greater than we could ever imagine.

Prayer: Lord keep me eternally minded and continue to serve the Lord to the best of my ability. In Jesus name, Amen
