Beware the Angel of Light
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:14
Beware of Satan’s deception of twisting scripture for evil purposes. Satan tempted Jesus using scripture out of context and twisting their meaning to suit his evil intentions. Today, people are doing the same thing — using scripture to promote their will.
Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons. (1 Timothy 4:1 ESV) In the last days, Satan will deceive the people. He will easily deceive unbelievers because they do not know God’s Truth and he will masquerade as angel of light to deceive Christians.
Satan is very clever, he knows the Word, he knows our weaknesses from observing our behavior, and he knows how to trigger our self-will to justify his way. This is how he masquerades as angel of light. He wants to deceive us such that we are unaware we have been deceived. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. (John 16:13 ESV) The Spirit guides us into all Truth, and we ask the Lord for understanding of His Truth. Always pray that you are walking in God’s truth. Satan is very deceiving masquerading as the angel of light because he knows the power of our self-will.
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17 ESV) It is always good to hold ourselves accountable to God and to another Christian because we can deceive ourselves by the power of our self-will. Some Christians may refuse to be accountable to another Christian because of pride.
Today, walk in God’s Truth and pray that you are not deceived by the angel of light. Be aware that Satan is trying to deceive those in your church family. In the last days, Satan is working hard to destroy the church.
Prayer: Lord, guide me in the Spirit to live by your Truth, and to know when Satan is attacking with his lies. Give me your strength, wisdom, and courage to stand strong for Christ in these difficult times. In Jesus’ name, Amen
