Believe God’s Commands in Your Heart

Posted on

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

Do you think there is any command in the Bible that we cannot achieve? Philippians 4:13 says we can do all things through Christ. Christians believe this in their mind, but we live out of our hearts.  If we believe this scripture in our hearts, we will live this scripture. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23)

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2)  We trust the Lord knowing he will give us whatever we need to achieve his commands. We have a heart that says we will achieve every command because we know He wouldn’t give us commands that He knew we couldn’t achieve through his power. We will fail in serving the Lord if we serve in our own strength.

All commands have a foundation of love and we cannot fill our hearts with love without serving the Lord.  We cannot serve the Lord without remaining in Him. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)  We cannot truly minister to the world without Christ’s strength in us and we cannot have Christ’s power in us unless we remain in Christ. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)  We meet the commands by no longer living for our self but living for Christ.  We live these commands by praying for the Lord’s divine guidance.

The key for achieving all of God’s commands is faith from a heart of love that motivates us to fulfill the command and knowing the Lord will make it possible. The Lord is pleased when we are motivated to achieve every command because we see it’s for God’s glory and for our good.  Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8)   As we walk with the Lord, we can see that every command makes our life more fulfilling and it draws us closer to the Lord.

Today, trust the Lord and know you can fulfill every command from the Lord. This will show your faith in the Lord.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to fulfill all your commands and to always be closer to you. Thank you for your strength that makes all things possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen
