Be Victorious – Follow the Spirit

Posted on

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

John 16:13

Christ guides us through the Spirit and he gives us his power. When we follow the Spirit, we are doing what Christ has called us to do, and he will be with us and empower us to complete the task. When we faithfully give our best to follow the Spirit, we will live in victory.  Victory occurs when we follow the Lord’s will.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) The apostle Paul lived in victory because he lived doing Christ’s will. The more we die to our will and live doing Christ’s will, the more victorious we will be.

When Christ guides us through our day, we are living in victory, even if this is our last day, we are victorious just as Jesus was victorious when he died on the cross. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (Romans 8:14) Living each day following the Spirit to the best of our ability, we will know Heaven is our home, because we are children of God.

There is no better security than faithfully following the Spirit, because we are living doing God’s will.  Remember doing God’s will is a full-time job that requires prayer, living in the Word, and having help from other Christians.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) If we serve Christ with strong faith in all situations, we well live with victory. Always pray that our faith will become stronger every day, that we trust the Lord to guide our life.

When the Lord guides or life, we gain freedom and we overcome the world. When we guide our own life, we become a slave to the world. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) We not only gain freedom and overcome the world, when serving Christ, we have life to the full. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) There is great advantage to following the Spirit, that can never be found from the world because they only come from God.

Today live the best life possible and let Christ led you through the day. The more we know the Word the easier it is to follow Christ.

Prayer:  Lord always increase my faith and fill my heart with your love, so I will eagerly live to serve Christ and be victorious. In Jesus name, Amen
