Be Still and Know God

Be still, and know that I am God

Psalm 46:10

Being still refers to being emotionally still and still in our thoughts. God wants us to have patience, be relaxed, and commune with Him. We can be still, independent of the world around us, and this is possible through the power of our Lord.

We are still, and if the world goes crazy around us, we go the Lord in our thoughts and ask for peace and wisdom. We spend majority of our time communing the Lord, because we depend on Him for everything, and we get used to living with peace, joy, and wisdom and never let Satan take it from us. We ask the Lord to help us in controlling our thoughts, in all situations.

Satan’s goal is to keep our minds racing and never have patience, because he always wants to have the opposite of what the Lord wants for us. Satan wants to live fear, worry, impatience, anger, or anything that will keep our thoughts controlled by our emotions. We are created in the image of God, and is natural for us to be controlled by the Spirit.

Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. ( 1 John 5:4). The Lord wants us to be in control through the Spirit, to be still, peaceful, and relaxed in every situation; and we seek stillness through prayer, and with His divine power to make it happen. Again we can’t be perfect, but we can strive for perfection. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

The more faith we have in the Lord as, the more we can remain still inside. Communing with the Lord in praise and thankfulness, gives us comfort and calmness, because when our thoughts on things above, our soul is living in the Kingdom. We train ourselves to commune with the Lord, even when we are busy doing a task. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23) It’s amazing that when we do everything in life for the Lord, it can relax us and give us peace.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3: 2) The more we commune with the Lord, the more we will commune with the Lord, because it’s our nature based on how God created us. We interface to the world through the Holy Spirit, and we see the world from God’s viewpoint, with stillness and wisdom in our hearts.

Today commune with the Lord, praising and thanking him, and ask for His divine guidance.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be still inside and commune with you. And keep me still in every situation through your power. Help me to be closer to you than to the world around me. In Jesus name, Amen
