Attitude of Victory

Posted on

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:14

How can we press on without an attitude of victory? With the world turning against Christians, we must remain with an attitude of victory because we walk with Christ. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? (Psalm 118:6) We have an attitude of victory in Christ because we know He will guide us through life into our eternal home.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57) Christ is always victorious and when we obey the Lord’s will, we are victorious.  Since our name is in the book of life, we are victorious because we have eternal life. The Lord gives us victory both in this life and in our eternal life.

Without faith, how can we have an attitude of victory? Christ gives us victory only if we trust the Lord to guide us through life. Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. (James 1:3) Our faith takes away fear and gives us courage with an attitude of victory. If we are fearful and we lack courage, it is because we don’t have faith to persevere.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) Our faith gains strength based on our love for the Lord. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. (Ephesians 6:10) Our love for the Lord will give us faith to be strong and confident in the Lord’s almighty power in our life. Our confidence is revealed by our attitude of victory.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV) How we think determines our attitude and affects our life.  If we think negatively, we will never trust Christ because negative thinking reaps negative actions. An attitude of victory is what the Lord expects of us, and the Lord will lead us to victory if we obey his Word and develop patience.

Today, live with an attitude of victory and call on the Lord for victory.  If things don’t go as expected, continue on with an attitude of victory. Remember victory is in God’s hands and things do not always turn out as we would like.  As Christ’s servants, we continue with an attitude of victory.   Victory occurs when we fulfill the Lord’s commands to our best. The attitude of victory is in our hearts and it never dies.

Prayer:  Lord, give me an attitude of victory and may my faith continue to grow in my heart. Christ is always victorious, and if I walk with Lord, I will be victorious.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
