Ask and Seek
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8
If we follow the Spirit with a heart that is dependent on the Lord, we will ask and seek his guidance. Whatever we are doing in the moment, it is always good to ask the Lord for guidance, protection, or whatever else we made need. No matter how much like Christ we become, we will always benefit if we ask and seek guidance from Christ.
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) We reflect Christ and we abide in Christ by asking and seeking. If we truly depend on Christ, we will naturally ask and seek the Lord’s guidance.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. (James 4:10 NKJV) A humble heart is a Christian that lives as the Lord’s servant always guided by the Spirit by asking for and seeking divine guidance. The Lord will guide us to someone to minister with a heart of love and compassion, and the words that person needs to hear.
Asking and seeking the Lord’s guidance shows our dependence on Him, motivating us to reflect Jesus and to bring Christ to everyone, especially lost souls. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11) Hearts filled with God’s love enables us to reflect Christ and motivates us to bring Christ to everyone. When our hearts are filled with God’s love, there is sadness for lost souls which drives us to tell them about hope in Christ. Ministering to lost souls drives us to ask and seek the Lord’s divine guidance, so we can speak the divine words the person needs to hear.
Today, serve the Lord and ask for his guidance throughout the day, especially when ministering to someone. You can depend on the Lord to guide you through the day and prepare you for everything you face.
Prayer: Thank you for guiding me through every detail of my life with your love and divine wisdom. Lord, help me to be continually guided by the Spirit to fulfill your divine will. In Jesus name, Amen
