Always Trust the Lord

Posted on

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

We live as the Lord’s servant and we always trust him with all our hearts because he is God. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. (Psalm 145:3) We know the Lord loves us more than we can imagine and no one can snatch us out of his hand, then how can we not trust him over our limited understanding?

Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. (Galatians 2:16 ESV) We are saved by faith in Christ, faith that put our life in the hands of Christ living as his servant knowing he is our master. We believe every promise in the Word, every answer to our prayer, and every guidance he gives us.

When our faith is pleasing to the Lord, we have surrendered our life to Christ and we are now free. We will never be free in Christ if lean on our own understanding because we are being our own god. We will fully trust the Lord when our hearts are filled with his love and we recognize him as the one and only almighty God.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. (Proverbs 8:17) When we seek the Lord in prayer and meditation, we start to see who we are in comparison to the almighty God.  As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) We believe this verse in our hearts otherwise we will not always trust the Lord.

There is great peace and rest when we always trust the Lord because we know his unlimited love and power.  We are now truly his servants and he is our Master, and, through faith, we depend on the Lord.

Today, trust the Lord and lean not on your own understanding.  Depend on the Lord and ask for his guidance throughout your day especially when ministering to someone.

Prayer: Lord, help me to always trust you and recognize you as the one almighty God. I will seek to put my faith in you at all times. In Jesus’ name, Amen
