Always Trust the Lord

Posted on

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

We pray based our own understanding, but often the Lord answers according to His divine understanding. Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. (Isaiah 40:28) It can be difficult sometimes when the Lord answers our prayer different than we expect. But the Word says “His understanding no one can fathom,” especially this side of eternity. When Christ carries us into Heaven, then we will understand.

So how do we always trust the Lord even though we may suffer because He didn’t answer our prayer according to our will.  “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) Our faith must accept this verse because His thoughts and ways are above ours. We live as the Lord’s servants and we fully trust His thoughts and ways because He is God.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) We pray that our faith is pleasing to Him, and we trust the Lord in all things which shows we know Him.  We recognize God as sovereign over all things and recognize ourselves as His servants.  We trust the Lord and when we accept His answer and timing to our prayers, we are comforted.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) Christ lives in our hearts, guiding us through life a His servants, and he gives us His strength to endure all things. Our focus is on God and others which frees us from self, and we live to reflect His love to others.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) The Lord comforts His servants so we can comfort others, and we need His comforting due to our limited understanding of His ways, because we cannot see things form the Heavenly perspective.

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (1 Corinthians 13:12) This side of eternity we have limited understanding of the God’s thoughts and ways, that is why we are to live with faith at all times because we know His perfect love and compassion for us, and He has a perfect home for us in Heaven.

Today trust the Lord no matter what happens, because Satan will do anything to kill your faith in God.  Don’t give Satan a foothold and live every day with faith and reap peace and comfort.

Prayer:  Lord help me always trust you with no doubt in my heart. You are God and I am striving to live as your servant. In Jesus name, Amen
