Always Closer to the Lord

Posted on

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

When we seek the Lord with all our hearts, we always be getting closer to the Lord. The closer relationship we have with Christ the greater our life becomes, and the more we desire to be with the Lord. The closer we are to the Lord the more we are eternal minded, which brings peace and joy to our hearts.

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12) Only through Christ can we have divine meaning to our life, with hearts of love, peace, and joy; as he leads us to our Heavenly home. Without Christ being our life, we live in a dark world with no direction.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8) When we experience how great life is when we serve Christ with faith, because he renews our mind to become the person God created us to be.  When we become the person God created, then we will experience life to the full. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Every person has a choice to have life to the full through Christ. The only thing in life that continually gets better is always getting closer to Christ.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2) Our minds change based on our thoughts; we change our thoughts to things of God, and we do this by fellowship with Christians in a Bible based church, study the Word, pray, and serve the Lord. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, our life changes, because our minds change to the ways of God. And as our minds are being changed which continues to our last breath, it increases our desire to be closer to Christ.

Today read the Word, pray, fellowship with other Christians, and serve Christ guided by the Word.  There is no greater reward in this life than becoming the person God created us to be, and Christ will guide us to be that person.

Prayer: Father guide me to be closer to Christ, and guide me to live in the Word and in prayer. In Jesus name, Amen.
