All Things Possible for God

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Matthew 19:26

Our faith depends on knowing all things are possible for God.  Moses sent out twelve spies to go into the Promised Land and when they came back and reported, only two had faith — Joshua and Caleb. Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”  But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” (Numbers 13:30-31)  The Lord saw their lack of faith and He said to MosesHow long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, In spite of all the signs I have performed among them? (Numbers 14:11) The Lord’s anger at their lack of faith was to make the Israelites stay in the desert for forty years until that generation died. The Lord is not pleased when we trust our power over His divine power.

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6) Don’t be like the ten spies who depended on their own strength; be like Joshua and Caleb who depended on the Lord’s strength. Serve the Lord fully depending on the Lord’s strength and guidance. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)  Live by this verse when serving the Lord.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20) If we truly know that all things are possible for God, then we can serve the Lord doing anything he calls us to do based on the skills He will develop in us. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB) We are weak when we stop depending on self then the Lord’s power is perfected in us. Whenever serving the Lord, prepare and pray; pray before, during, and after serving.  Pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17) is what we do when we depend on the Lord as we live each day serving the Lord.

Today, serve the Lord, depend the His guidance and power, and, pray throughout the day asking for guidance.

Prayer:  Lord, fill my mind and heart the knowledge that all things are possible for You and may I believe this as I serve you today. Help me to stop depending on myself and fully depend on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
