Alive in Christ

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Ephesian 2:4-5

God’s love in our hearts makes us more alive than anything in creation. We accept Christ and heaven pours into our hearts through the Spirit. We spiritually growing getting closer to Christ, and our soul is like being in Heaven while our flesh remains in the world.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Only Christ can bring us life to the full; our soul is content because it is fed from Heaven and we can now enjoy life in this world to the full. Many people live pleasing the flesh, but it will never fully satisfy their soul.  Our soul is our thoughts, personality, and our deep beliefs; and the soul is created for continuous contentment because we are created to be with God.  Only God can continuously feed our soul with His love and contentment.

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:11-13) Paul lived a very difficult life ministering with lots of opposition, but he learned to be content in all situation, even when he was in prison.  Paul was very close to Christ and his soul was content at all times because contentment, love, peace, and joy came from Christ, through the Spirit.  This is God’s plan for us, to be content with peace and joy in all situations. This is how we cope with the world that Satan is filling with evil.

We can have the same contentment as Paul if we strive for it and pray for Lord’s divine power to make it happen. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8) If we truly want the divine blessings that the Lord has for us, we must strive for it and we must pray for His blessings.

Today know you are alive in Christ because He lives in your heart.  Know He is with you at all times, so call on His love, wisdom, and guidance; as you go through your day.

Prayer:  Lord thank you for making my spirit alive in Christ. Guide me today through the Spirit to be a Light for Christ in this darkening world. In Jesus name, Amen
