Acknowledge Christ

Posted on

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

Matthew 10:32

We are called to acknowledge Christ before the world, telling them about forgiveness of sin and God’s love and grace. From Matthew 10:32, if we acknowledge Christ before others then Christ will acknowledge us before the Father.  Christ is our priest that intercedes for us before the Father.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:13-14)  How are lost souls going to hear the Truth unless Christians tell them? The majority of souls never search for the Truth in the Word because they believe a lie from Satan that appeals to the easy nature of their flesh.

Satan tempts us trying to keep us from acknowledging Christ.  He does this by changing laws against speaking about Christ and placing fear in our hearts.  And thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation, but as it is written, Those who have never been told of Him will see, and those who have never heard will understand. (Romans 15:20–21 ESV) The apostle Paul stated he was going to preach the Word to those who have never been told and those who have never heard. Paul was called by Christ to be an apostle to the Gentiles (those of non-Jewish heritage) and he was told how much he will suffer for Christ. But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel; for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake. (Acts 9:15-16 NASB) Paul went through tremendous suffering but he was fearless in acknowledging Christ.  He is our example for acknowledging Christ to the world and the Lord carried him through life until it was time for him go home to be with the Lord.

It takes courage and fire in our Spirit driven by love in our hearts to seek opportunities for acknowledging Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)  We live to acknowledge Christ and God’s love in our hearts overcomes the fear that Satan seeks to put into our hearts. God’s love in our hearts will overcome fear from Satan.

Today, acknowledge Christ with gentleness of words given in love and understanding whenever the opportunity arises.  Remember if we acknowledge Christ to others, Christ acknowledges us to the Father.

Prayer:  Lord, guide me in the Spirit and give me the courage and words to always acknowledge you to the world. Let me always reveal your Truth to fight against Satan’s lies. In Jesus’ name, Amen
