A Heart of Giving

Posted on

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Proverbs 11:25

When we help others, we are blessed, because we are created to give to others. A Christian is generous with their time and money to help others, because life is about serving Christ and helping people.  If we don’t care about the person’s earthly life, are they going to listen about the Spirit?

There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land. (Deuteronomy 15:11) We give to those in need, with our time, food, transportation, or money.  Then hopefully the door will open to bring Christ to the them, because they know we care about them. Christians care about everyone, and we help those whenever they accept us as a Christian.

It is more blessed to give than receive. (Acts 20:35) The true joy comes from helping others, both in their physical and spiritual needs. God created us in his image, and like God we are created with a giving heart, but Satan’s goal is to make everyone self-centered. Even many non-Christians find joy in helping others.

Christians give to the Church, and pray for people, and some Christians go out into the world to bring people to Christ; and helping people and bringing them to Christ is the greatest reward.  Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. (Proverbs 19:17) The Lord rewards those who have a heart to help others and tell them about Christ. The reward consists of the divine feeling of helping others, and financially we can never out give God. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. (2 Corinthians 9:8) If we are wise with our money, and give first to the Lord, and then to those in need that we are ministering; then God will provide for our needs. We need faith to use our finances according to God’s will.

Today realize that God created everyone with a giving heart.  Help others today with encouragement, and whatever that person may need. One person may help, but sometimes we made need help from the church.

Prayer: Father place in my heart how I can help others and also bring them to Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
