A Heart for Christ

Posted on

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7

It takes a heart filled with Gods love to know Christ, and to have a close relationship with Him. With a heart of love, we have a deep understanding of Christ when read the Word. We feel his emotions with every encounter he has with people, because we have the same emotions.  We hurt for lost souls and we hate Satan’s deception of people.

The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. (Revelations 12:9) It’s sad how Satan deceives the whole world astray. First, he keeps people from reading and knowing the truth of God’s Word, and by default they have no choice but to believe Satan’s lies, and they don’t realize they have been deceived. Lost souls are lost, but they think they are saved because they believe Satan’s lies. This makes a Christian angry at Satan’s deceptions, and desperately want to bring God’s truth to lost souls.

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:12) The more we bring God’s truth with love, the more complete love is made in our hearts. Love motivates us to bring God’s truth to lost souls, just as love motivated Jesus to bring the good news of salvation to people. God’s love in our hearts is what makes us like Jesus.

God fills our hearts with his love as we to continue to bring love to others. The more we bring God’s truth from the Word to others, the more love God puts into our hearts, because he wants us to be motivated by love with a caring heart, just as Jesus was motivated by love with a caring heart. Christians pray for the Lord to open doors so they bring God’s truth to souls that are deceived by Satan.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-12) If we ask the Lord to open doors to bring Christ’s truth to others, he will reveal a way for everyone. A heart filled with God’s love is always praying for the opportunity to witness to people.

Today seek to live for Christ being a light in this world, and the Lord will guide you through your day.

Prayer: Father, keep changing my heart by filling it with your divine love, so I can be more like Jesus.  In Jesus name, Amen
